Stacey Solomon says that her sister Jemma Solomon once took a name she was going to give to one of her own children — just weeks before the birth.
The pair are very close, and Jemma had the honour of being a birth partner for her younger sibling’s new baby.
However, Stacey told Heart Breakfast Radio that she is now careful not to reveal her list of baby names for the future out of fear Jemma will take them.
“We have this sort of name rivalry. I really don’t want my sister to use any of the names”
“Anyone else can in the world, just not her. Cause we can’t have cousins that have the same name.”
“One of her children, I won’t mention which one, has got a name that I really wanted. And I said it out loud before. School boy error.”
Jemma, 33, has three children with husband Lee, 36, named Darcy Willow, Mila Luna, and Hudson James.
Stacey revealed on ITV’s Loose Women that her sister used one of the names she had already planned as a middle name of her children.
She said: “She didn’t know it was one I really wanted but I plan a lot of these things out in my head before they happen and I did have a list of top five that I had before this pregnancy.”
Thankfully the star says the competition over names is all in good fun, adding: “I bear no grudge toward my sister. What. So. Ever.”
“But I do get why people don’t say the names they want for their children because once somebody has said it in your close circle, you can’t use it.”
Stacey, 32, has children Leighton and Zachary from previous relationships and shares Rex and the new baby girl with Joe.
While she’s so far kept schtum on the name of her bundle of joy, Stacey’s dad David appeared to drop a huge hint.
David shared a sweet snap of Stacey just moments after giving birth to her baby girl. He wrote on Instagram, “Proud Daddy Moment well Done to my beautiful Daughter you done amazing. (Joe was good too) How gorgeous to see number 9 on your Birthday being there was very special welcome to the world picklelet. I’m sure you will be so loved and protected.”
