Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Peaty has opened up about his awkward wardrobe malfunction.
The hunky Olympian thrilled BBC viewers by going shirtless last week but apparently there was a practical reason why he decided to ditch his shirt.
On the latest episode of Strictly’s It Takes Two, Adam opened up about his outfit decision during week two of the dancing competition.
Adam and partner Katya Jones were speaking to host Rylan Clark-Neal ahead of their performance on Movie Week on Saturday night.
After Rylan shared a clip of their rehearsal with Adam shirtless, the star shared his major wardrobe malfunction.
Katya joked about his outfit: “Well, there’s not much to it, is there?”
Adam replied: “The outfit, there’s a reason why we’re not wearing a top tomorrow.”
He “It’s because…” before going to demonstrate the main issue as his shirt button popped completely open after he slightly moved his shoulders.
He continued: “This was the outfit but I broke it so…”
Adam’s wardrobe has been a topic of discussion on Strictly so far after fans were distracted by his trousers last week.
Adam has also recently admitted that he ‘understands’ how the infamous Strictly curse can strike when couples are dancing so closely together.
The ‘Strictly curse’ is brought up every year after as it often happens where dancing partners end up hooking up after becoming close on the dance floor.
In an interview with The Times, Adam said: “My hips are here, hers are here, and then we do this… You get close. I can see how it happens,” while demonstrating an intimate dance manoeuvre.
Adam is in a relationship with artist Eiri, who he met on Tinder at the beginning of 2020 and within in months were expecting their son, George.
He told the publication: “Obviously it wasn’t planned. I got the call in Australia, with her crying. I was like, ‘OK, this is going to change my life forever’.
“I was like, ‘I’m not prepared to be a father.’ I’m very selfish. I’m an athlete. The best athletes in the world have to look after themselves first.
“I’ve never been able to stay in a relationship because my sport is so demanding.”
However, the pair have continued to make it work despite the demands of the recent Tokyo Olympics where Adam added two golds medals to his roster.
Strictly It Takes Two continues Monday
