Chanelle Hayes says her 7-stone weight loss was down to big lifestyle overhaul

Chanelle Hayes says one big lifestyle change is the reason for her whopping seven-stone weight loss.

She denies weight loss surgery was the only driving force behind her image overhaul.

The former Big Brother star managed to shed an inspiration seven stone and revealed her new look earlier in March.

The 33-year-old underwent a secret gastric sleeve operation in August 2020 after she found she had reached 17 stone.

The surgery removed a large part of the stomach to limit food intake and she managed to drop four dress sizes.

Chanelle shared a ‘before and after’ photo of herself to her Instagram followers.

She said the difference in her size was down to being ‘inactive vs active’.

The mum-of-two shared the fun activities she now does with her two sons which have helped her drop the weight.

She said in the post: “One of the best things since my #gastricsleeve is being able to move more and spend more quality time with my boys.

“In the left pic, I sat sweating due to my excess body weight watching my son play football. In the right, I had just beaten him at a race of the Monsal trail, so I was sweating for the right reasons!”

Chanelle added: “Last weekend I took the kids trampolining, next week we are going swimming. None of these activities were something I could have done before.

“Partly, because I felt so much shame I didn’t want to embarrass them but partly because I knew I would be in agony for days afterwards.”

Chanelle revealed she was not in “any agony after this bike ride”, but was “starving, but pain-free”.

“So I finished off with a nice Caesar salad and a side of “smug” from winning the race,” she wrote.

She admitted the issue she now faces is trying to find activities that work for the whole family, with her sons aged 11 and four.

Chanelle, who shot to fame on Big Brother in 2007, altered her food intake and changed her lifestyle so she could feel comfortable in her own body.

She also shares her journey with fans, explaining what she eats in a day, as followers message her for inspiration and advice.

She also admitted before her surgery, she would have eaten more than she should, but she doesn’t feel hunger pangs like dieting can bring on.
