Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 56, has paid tribute to his beloved family dog Kezzy after the sweet pup died at the age of 14.
The journalist took to Instagram to share the sad news of the dog’s death, showing a rare glimpse into his softer side with his 1.8million followers.
“She will be missed by all of us,” Piers posted, alongside an adorable picture of Kezzy sitting on a comfortable chair in the kitchen, while gazing up at the camera.
The controversial star added: “RIP Kezzy, 14. My parents’ wonderfully good-natured, intuitive, loyal, empathetic and lovable dog.”
The tragic announcement quickly received an outpouring of compassion from fans and animal lovers across the UK, with hundreds of comments offering condolences and sharing their own memories of their past pets.
“I know what this day is like,” one person wrote, while another said: “So hard when we lose a fur baby, they leave a huge hole when they go.”
“So hard, love to all,” one wrote, while another said: “Run free over [rainbow] bridge beautiful girl.”
The TV favourite sensationally stormed off set during an argument over Meghan Markle, and later quit the programme all together.
Piers also recently bid an emotional farewell to his ITV colleague Fred Dinenage, who recently announced his departure from ITV Meridian.
The Irish-born presenter famously left Good Morning Britain in March of this year but is set to make an explosive return to TV as he joins NewsUK’s new channel, TalkTV.
Piers recently put out a call for creatives to apply for jobs on the show, including producers, editors and writers, but insisted he doesn’t want any ‘annoying woke snowflakes’ working for him.
The presenter, 56, has often been outspoken about “woke” culture.
Earlier this year he claimed that “woke imbeciles” were destroying the world after it was announced that the Mr Potato Head brand would lose the “Mr” in a gender neutral makeover.
And last week he waded in to the debate about who will take over as James Bond now that Daniel Craig has stepped down, saying that if 007 is played by a female he will campaign to have Wonder Woman be a man.
Looking to up his physical fitness after battling long Covid for several months, Piers recently shared a photograph of a statue on his daily walk, writing: “The Physical Energy statue in Kensington Gardens… where ironically, I walk to most days to try to re-establish my physical energy after 12 weeks of very dreary long covid.”
