US rapper Tyga arrested for 'felony domestic violence' after abuse claims by ex

American rapper Tyga has been arrested following domestic abuse claims made by his ex-girlfriend, Camarayn Swanson.

The musician whose real name is Michael Rae Nguyen-Stevenson was officially arrested by police in Los Angeles on October 20.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department said: “Hollywood Div booked Michael Stevenson for felony domestic violence (273.5 A PC).

“The incident occurred on 10/12/21 in Hollywood.”

It’s believed Tyga’s bail has been set at £36,782, according to reports.

Camarayn’s claims come after it was reported to TMZ that she showed up to his home in the early hours of Monday morning uninvited and screaming.

Shortly after, she posted photos of herself with a black eye and tagged TMZ, writing: “I’ve been emotionally, mentally and physically abused and I’m not hiding it anymore.”

An additional snap saw her filming herself as she zoomed in on her bruised eye as she wrote: “I’m so embarrassed and ashamed it had to get to this but I have to stand up for myself.”

Camaryn also shared a screenshot of texts that see her arranging a car, with her tagging TMZ to say: “I didn’t show up ‘screaming’ or uninvited.

“When I tried to leave he physically assaulted me and refused to let me leave for hours.”

The screen shot also saw Camaryn sending a text that said: “I can’t believe this is how it has to end. Honestly I’m so heart broken and I didn’t think you were capable to ever do this to me.”

A source close to Tyga previously told TMZ that she had come to his home around 3am after he “told her not to” and was at his front door “shouting at the top of her lungs”.

It was said that Tyga and other family members in his home felt Camaryn appeared to be under the influence, but the pair went inside to talk.

Law enforcement sources reportedly said that Camaryn has claimed that Tyga put his hands on her during their argument, and after she was picked up by her mum, called the police to report the alleged incident.

Officers took a report for felony domestic violence after seeing “visible marks” on her, the source said.

Tyga hasn’t been arrested, but the police visited his home later that morning, but he refused to speak with them, sources say.

However, it is said that he would be going into LAPD on Tuesday morning to explain his side.

The reports follow their split after a brief romance that started earlier this year.

Daily Star Online has approached a representative of Tyga for comment.
