Family Fortunes guest celebrates £30k win by getting tattoo of Gino D'Acampo's face

A contestant on Family Fortunes promised to get a tattoo of show host Gino D’Acampo if she won, and the lucky winner has only gone and done it.

Alex Burgess, 28, from South Shields was asked by Gino what she intended to do with the money if she won.

“I’m going to get your face tattooed on my arm” she told a bemused Gino.

He then told Alex that they had successfully won the massive £30,000 prize, when they took part in the show which aired on October 18, 2020.

Trainee accountant Alex has now had the artwork done and couldn’t be happier.

She told the Daily Star: “The tattoo took around three hours and cost me £300… money well spent!”

Asked what she thought Gino would make of her new ink, Alex said: “I think when I said I’d get his face tattooed if we won the £30k he just thought I was being ridiculous.”

“I’m a woman of my word!” she added.

“I love the tattoo and I hope he does too, though he probably thinks it’s bonkers,” joked Alex.

She posed for a snap with Gino after the show, and tweeted a snap of her new tattoo to celebrate the anniversary of winning the show.

Alex captioned the post: “One whole year ago the Burgess family graced your screens with our presence on ITV’s Family Fortunes and won £30,000!”

“How did I celebrate? Got a Gino tattoo of course, a woman of my word” with a crying laughing emoji.

“I don’t know if Gino ever saw it so tweeting it for the lols,” she added.

The artwork features a full colour portrait of the presenter, along with the classic Family Fortunes X underneath.

It also features the catchphrase “Our survey says…”

At the time the show aired viewers loved Alex’s promise.

“What a game! I hope you’ve booked in for that new Gino tattoo,” tweeted one.

Another added: “Can’t wait to see how that tattoo turns out for Alex Burgess.”

One asked: “Question is did Alex get the Gino tattoo done after?!!?””

They’ll be thrilled to know that the answer is yes.
