Thomas Markle has claimed that his daughter Meghan Markle has ‘pretty much disowned both sides of her family’.
Speaking to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain, he urged the Duchess of Sussex to ‘grow up’.
Thomas claimed that his daughter Meghan ‘changed’ when she met Prince Harry, before saying that it was ‘ridiculous’ that he had been estranged for so long.
When Thomas was asked about why he thinks Meghan won’t speak to him, he replied: “You’re asking me a question that is four years old, and I can’t answer it. I don’t know what changed her.
“She’s never been that way before and once she hooked up with Harry, she changed.”
He then slammed the Duchess for disowning both sides of her family: “I understand that she hooked up with Soho Club and a different group of people, but she’s pretty much disowned both sides of her family, and I don’t understand the reason for it.”
Meghan’s dad is still baffled as to why his daughter won’t speak to him.
Speaking on GMB he said: “If you go back in the history and read Meghan’s Tig that she had on the internet, you’ll find hundreds of things where she praises me and now suddenly it’s like she doesn’t know me. Take the time, read Tig, find Tig, and find out what she says about.”
He also said: “The kids are going to grow up without knowing that they have two families. This is more than just me and my daughter now, this is me and my daughter, her husband and two babies involved now, so it’s time to do something. It’s time to talk.”
Viewers of the popular ITV show were divided on Thomas’ appearence, with one saying: “Thomas Markle explicitly said on his interview w/Dan Wootton weeks ago that he would expose the children to the media. A better question would be why the media won’t question him on this. He said he didn’t want to use the children as pawns, now he’s back on TV for a quick $.”
Another said: “Appauling bringing Thomas Markle out to trash Meghan. The man who did not see his son for years, or his other grandchildren. How about asking him why his own daughter won’t see him?!”
While a third penned: “IMO She did cut off her family Harry never met Thomas Markle or his brother that gave M’s that Argentinian internship.Now Thomas Markle has no contact with his grandkids the whole thing is just sad for a couple that pledges compassion.”
This comes as Thomas revealed that he had previously considered taking legal action against Meghan and her husband so he could see his two grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
