Inside Strictly’s Giovanni’s wild love life – from Georgia May Foote to Maura Higgins

Over the years, Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice, 31, has proven to be quite the ladies’ man – but who has he dated?

Four months back, he started dating Love Island babe Maura Higgins, 30, and it looked like he might be off the market for good.

Although things were looking strong for the pair, reports earlier this week claim that they have officially called time on their romance, The Sun has said.

Maura has reportedly decided to step back and let Giovanni focus on Strictly Come Dancing, where he’s currently strutting his stuff with Rose Ayling-Ellis.

The pair may well mend the cracks in their relationship, but if not, this would just be the latest in a long line of failed flings for hunky Giovanni.

Georgia May Foote

The Italian stud met Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote when they danced together on Strictly in 2015.

The pair had sizzling chemistry in the ballroom and clearly in real life too, getting together after finishing as runners-up.

The soap star broke up with Corrie’s Sean Ward after their relationship suffered during her spell on Strictly.

Georgia and Giovanni were spotted snogging on a New Year’s trip to Disneyland Paris, and later made their own love nest after seeing each other for just one month.

Speaking to the Daily Mail at the time, Georgia said: “Gio is everything to me. I’m 100 percent happy with Gio. He’s smitten and I’m the same. We trust each other. We fell in love as friends before anything happened”.

She sparked rumours of an engagement in April after being seen sporting a ring on her wedding finger, but later claimed it was nothing more than a commitment ring.

The romance sadly came to an end in 2016 with the pair deciding they were better suited as pals.

In a statement, Georgia wrote: “It is with great sadness we have decided to split up. There is nobody else involved. Although it was not an easy decision to make, sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of these times”.

Jessica Wright

Giovanni and TOWIE ’s Jessica Wright became an official item in 2018, letting fans know with a steamy Valentines Day snap of the pair kissing on Instagram.

However, it is thought the couple started seeing each other in 2017 after they were spotted out together in London.

Reports suggest it was Jessica’s brother Mark Wright who introduced her to Giovanni after meeting the professional dancer on Strictly.

They called a day on their romance just a few months after posting the smoochy pic – rumour has it Giovanni couldn’t deal with all the attention his girlfriend attracted.

After the split, a source close to the TOWIE star and dancer said they hoped the couple would keep things civil.

That wasn’t to be though, with the pair clashing big time at the 2018 Pride of Britain Awards, where she accused him of “breaking her heart”.

Ashley Roberts

Giovanni clearly used Strictly Come Dancing as his own personal dating service because he later got together with contestant Ashley Roberts.

The Pussycats Dolls singer wasn’t Giovanni’s partner though – she was dancing with Pasha Kovalev, while he was paired with Steps’ Faye Tozer.

Love found its way to them anyhow, and the rumour mill went on overdrive.

The rumours were confirmed at the end of 2018, when the couple were spotted engaged in a snog in Miami, but the romance wasn’t made official until early 2019.

A few months later, Giovanni posted a pic of the love birds, gushing: “I never thought anyone would ever make me smile, laugh and steal my heart as fast as you did!! I love you amore”.

Fans were gobsmacked when a split came after just one year – it had seemed like the real deal for Giovanni this time.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “@ImAshleyRoberts and I have made the decision to separate as a couple. We remain friends and wish each other well for the future”.

Ashley has since opened up about the sort of person she’d like to end up with, saying they’d have to be supportive, adventurous and independent.

Was Giovanni lacking in any of these areas? Who knows, but we can’t help but wonder which celeb the pro dancer has his eyes on now.

Maura Higgins

Giovanni and Maura sparked romance speculation earlier this year after they were spotted at the same hotel, and weeks later, they confirmed the rumours.

Fans were loving the pairing and it seemed Maura had finally found the one, but it looks like it wasn’t to be as reports state that the duo have ended their romance.

A source close to the pair told the Sun their mates all hope they can work out their problems, but it would all depend on his gruelling Strictly schedule.
