Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies has urged Tilly Ramsay to “forget that bloke” who called her “chubby” and not let him ruin her chances on Strictly.
The fellow contestant and entrepreneur hopes the 19 year old daughter of TV chef Gordon can brush off LBC DJ Steve Allen’s cruel slur earlier this week and show off her dance skills.
Sara said: “I texted Tilly when I heard what had happened and I have been in constant communication with her.
“I was so worried about her as she is so young and vulnerable. That bloke has a lot to answer for picking on a 19 year old lass.
“She needs to forget that bloke. It must not affect her performance. How devastated would you be?
“We will be able to see it on her face if she has let it affect her. I really hope she is strong enough not to let it affect her.
“Good for her for keeping her chin up and going to rehearsals. A lot of people would have hidden in a corner and sat and cried.”
Sara will be performing a rumba on Saturday night with her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
She has undergone an incredible journey on the BBC show going from bottom of the leader board in week one to top of the leader board last week.
And she credits Swedish supergroup ABBA for helping her.
She explained: “After week one, the judges said I hadn’t given it my ‘all’ and I hadn’t given a performance. I think it was because I felt stupid when I perform as it is out of my comfort zone.
“Aljaz asked me who my favourite band were and I said ABBA and he told me to let myself go like I’m at an ABBA concert.
“God love him for trying every trick in the book. He is quite strict with me but in a smiley way.”
The show will go ahead without comedienne Judi Love who is now isolating as she has tested Covid positive.
Rugby star Ugo Monye will be back on the dancefloor having missed a week because he injured his back.
However the bookies have made him the favourite for the chop.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One
