Kerry Katona has credited exercise with saving her life.
The former Atomic Kitten has been open about battling substance abuse problems in the past, and has also opened up about dealing with bipolar disorder and her weight struggles.
Speaking on GB News, she said “exercise mentally saved my life”, and joked that it also kept her in work.
“If I didn’t put weight on and lose it I would not have a job,” she laughed.
“I have been sliced, I have been diced, I have been sucked, I have been nipped, I have been tucked, I have done it all.
“The best way you can do it is exercise and it really is.”
Kerry, 41, also told how lucky she felt to still be here after everything that she has experienced.
“I should be dead – I was snorting that much coke I collapsed,” she said.
“I shouldn’t be here but I feel so lucky and blessed.”
The mum-of-five – who describes herself as “resilient” – was diagnosed with bipolar disorder a few years ago and said it was actually a relief to know what was causing her to feel that way.
The star said she is doing well these days as she is now better equipped to deal with the downward spirals.
“I can be 100 miles an hour and then something will trigger me and I can be really down and really depressed,” she said.
“But I have had to learn to educate myself on what my triggers are and on what tools to use for those triggers.”
Kerry said she also gets a lot from speaking out about the things she has faced.
“The greatest therapy for me is when I help others, when I talk about my issues,” said the singer.
