Paris Fury's daughter Athena was 'dying in her arms' as she remembers traumatic birth

Paris Fury has opened up about the birth of her daughter Athena, saying that her baby girl was ‘dying in her arms’.

Paris, who is married to boxer Tyson Fury, has remembered the traumatic birth of her baby daughter that she went through recently.

Athena was born with a very fast heart rate of more than 300 beats a minute, when a usual heart rate would be around 120 beats a minute.

Doctors tried to lower her heart rate but Paris said that this caused more complications.

The family were transferred from Royal Lancaster Infirmary to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where Paris said the doctors sedated Athena and put her on an incubation and put a tube down her throat to breathe.

Paris told OK! magazine: “They put her on tablets to slow her heart down and when they took her off the tube, they thought it was going to be normal.

“But I think the accumulation of sedatives, painkillers, beta blockers for her heart and everything was just too much. She was in my arms and she stopped breathing and became completely unresponsive. Her heart rate was fading away – she was dying in my arms.

“They took her off me, put her on the table and resuscitated her. Tyson came running in. It was horrific. They managed to get her heart going and everything stabilised.”

Despite Athena taking a turn for the better and not needing to be on heart medication anymore, Paris struggled to sleep at all through the first few weeks.

Paris explained that she and Tyson didn’t know that there was anything wrong with Athena while she was pregnant but when they thought back it began to make sense.

She said it came as a “complete shock” – but the couple later realised her heart had also been doing the same thing while her baby was still in the womb.

Paris said doctors were “struggling to find a clear trace” of her heart rate.

But she said it was still “completely unexpected” when Athena was first born.

Tyson and Paris have six children together, Venezuela, 12, Prince John James, 10, Prince Tyson Fury II, five, Valencia Amber, three, Prince Adonis Amaziah, two and baby Athena.

Despite the pair having six children already, Paris hasn’t ruled out having more, admitting she’ll “never say never”.

But having such a “stressful time” with baby Athena, she admitted she is questioning whether she’d have more kids now.
