Thrilling Tiger King 2 trailer teases Joe Exotic jail, Donald Trump and Carole Baskin

What do a black panther, former US president Donald Trump, a box full of guns, and Lisa Minnelli’s soaring ballad ‘Maybe This Time’ all have in common?

They all feature in the thrilling new trailer for Tiger King 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to the lockdown-defining Netflix documentary about the utterly surreal and completely captivating world of american big cat parks.

“The colorful saga of America’s most notorious big cat owners continues. Sudden fame and unwanted attention from the authorities turns up the heat and unearths some stunning revelations,” wrote streaming giants and show distributor Netflix, as part of the official release of the trailer.

Wednesday’s trailer asks huge questions about what happened to the stars of the show after the dramatic ending of the first season.

Meanwhile, everybody’s favourite southern twang and mullet combination is firmly locked away, seemingly doing everything he can to get himself on the right side of a jail cell.

“Everybody from the zoo is out there making money, and I’m paying the price for every one of them people,” he spits.

“If you give a damn it’s time to speak up.”

The trailer gives a glimpse of many familiar faces from the smash-hit first season, providing clues about what they’re up to now.

“Tiger King changed our lives over night,” Jeff Lowe can be heard saying. “We have more money than god right now.”

There’s even the familiar sight of James Garretson riding a jet ski.

It is understood that Carole Baskin sold Exotic’s zoo earlier this year.

Laying out the synopsis, Netflix said: “With Joe Exotic behind bars and Carole Baskin closing in on ownership of his disreputable zoo, the Emmy-nominated saga continues its twisted course with Tiger King 2 as newfound revelations emerge on the motivations, backstories, and secrets of America’s most notorious big cat owners.

Joe Exotic took the nation by storm in 2020, now he’s behind bars

“Old enemies and frenemies, including Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson return for another season of murder, mayhem, and madness. Thought you knew the whole story? Just you wait.”

Following the trailer’s release users flocked to the comments to share their views on the smash hit’s followup.

One user wrote: “This looks an awful waste of time… Can’t wait to see it.”

Another said: “Heck yes! The first season helped me get though 2020 haha, and we’re still needing the help!”

Not everyone was convinced however: “Well, they usually use the best they got in the trailer and this had nothing. Seems like a terrible and totally unnecessary season, just to make more money,” said one YouTube user.

Another wrote: “Is there actually much more to tell? Or is this just a tacked on add on due to the success of the first season?”

Either way, with the nights drawing in and with memories of one of the craziest TV shows still fresh in the mind, we will certainly be settling down to see what season two is all about.
