The Chase fans baffled at player's 'intestines' answer to question on human body

Fans of The Chase were left baffled when a player answered “two front intestines” during a question about the human biology.

When the hit ITV game show returned on Friday (October 29), four new players entered the studio – Ellie, Darron, Joe and Janet.

Ellie was up first, and she managed to bank £5,000 in her cash-builder round overall.

However, she suffered a nightmare gaffe in the opening round when she was faced with a question on the human body that left her stumped at the podium.

Host Bradley Walsh asked Ellie: “In the body, a midline diastema is a gap in-between your two front what?”

Ellie looked puzzled, but she quickly answered: “Intestines”.

However, the correct answer was “teeth”, and when Bradley told her it was wrong, she grimaced at her gaffe before continuing the round.

ITV viewers were left cringing at the mysterious answer, with many rushing to Twitter to comment on the poor player’s blunder.

One viewer wrote: “2 front intestines. What kind of f***ing answer is that?!!”

A second fan commented: “Two front intestines?” as they added a series of laughing-emojis.

A third joked: “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Intestines”

A fourth said: “Your two front intestines. Wow”

A fifth fan referenced the recent gaffe on ITV’s Tipping Point, which saw a player mistake ancient Greek poet Homer for the popular Simpsons character with the same name.

A contestant had been asked “in his epic poems, Homer often refers to nectar as the drink of the gods and which other substance as their food?”, and they replied “doughnuts”.

Ellie managed to see the funny side of her mistake though, and she even said she’d like to face Chaser Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha as he would be able to make a joke about her error.

When he appeared, Paul quipped: that Ellie showed “a lot of guts” in her performance.

Things didn’t get any better for the poor player, because when she was forced to leave the show after Paul beat her in the next round.

Darron, Janet and Joe made it to the Final Chase with £27k thanks to a brilliant performance by Darron, which saw him take £35k back to his team.

But Ellie’s teammates were unable to beat ‘The Sinnerman’ in the end, and they walked away empty-handed after he chased them down with ease.
