Original Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has hinted that she and her family might return to the Channel 4 show.
The Tapper family left the show in 2018 after appearing for five years.
The family is made up of mum Nikki, dad Jonathan, and siblings Josh and Amy.
When the show first started in 2013, Amy was just 13-years-old.
As the hit programme nears its 10th anniversary, Amy has hinted that there may be a return for her and her family in the future.
During an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Amy: “Would you go back on Googlebox? Miss you guys x”
Amy answered: “For now I don’t think so but I think next year or the year after is the 10th anniversary of Gogglebox so who knows.
“Maybe we’ll come back for a cheeky series.”
In 2017, Amy’s brother Josh shocked fans by quitting due to gaining a Government Communications Apprenticeship.
At the time, Gogglebox bosses said he was on a “break” from the show and left the door open for him to return while keeping the rest of the family on screen.
However, Josh later admitted that he had slammed that door shut after entering Downing Street.
He said: “The option to go back is always there but I want to move away from that and the focus is now very much on my job.
“Of course, I miss it and the sitting on the couch watching TV. But I am more focused on my future….it’s a more a secure path.”
Josh was a campaign assistant for the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Office while at 10 Downing Street, before working as assistant campaign manager.
However, last year a Downing Street source revealed that now Josh had left after bagging a job at Demos, a leading British think tank and charity.
However, Amy had another TV stint by appearing on Celebs Go Dating in 2018 in a bid to find love.
She starred in the show alongside fellow reality stars Chloe Sims and Olivia Attwood.
A source close to the family said in 2021: “The Tapper family was part of Gogglebox for five years and they loved it.
“But they don’t have any plans to return. They have moved on.”
“They have some exciting things in the pipeline that they want to focus on.
“They have a lot coming up this year.”
The Channel 4 series has aired for 17 series with series 18 on screens at the minute.
*Gogglebox is shown on Fridays at 9pm.
