Madonna, 63 has been slammed by fans on social media after stripping nude and recreating Marilyn Monroe’s famous death bed.
The singer also revealed in her latest interview that Kanye West is “the only thing” that inspires her.
The star, who isn’t afraid to show flesh, recreated Marilyn Monroe’s death bed for the latest V Magazine cover issue.
The 63-year-old was seen laying on a mattress face down showing her bottom with prescription pill bottles by a nightstand.
In 1962, Munroe was found dead in her Brentwood, California home.
It was said she had overdosed on sedative drugs the night before.
Madonna was photographed in the recreated scene by Steven Klein but fans were quick to express their feelings on it.
Pop culture expert, Mike Sington tweeted: “For some morbid and eerie reason, Madonna decides to re-create Marilyn Monroe’s death bed.”
Another replied: “This isn’t cool. Glamorizing suicide is the only takeaway once the shock factor wears off.”
A third said: “Yuck. Gross and inappropriate.”
“This makes me queasy, seems to me in bad taste,” another wrote.
Photographer, Steven said he was inspired by the shoot, The Last Sitting which Monroe did six weeks before her death.
The main highlight from the cover was her sensationally sexy snaps that made her look 33 not 63.
The Like A Virgin hitmaker showed a busty display in a second image holding onto a fur wrap while wearing pearls and diamonds.
Her hair is also styled similar to iconic Marilyn’s with her blonde locks in short curls around her face.
In another photo for the shoot, she is seen naked waist up, facing away from the camera with only a pair of fishnet stockings on as she flashes her bum to the camera.
During her interview, she told the magazine that Kanye West’s controversial Donda album is “the only thing” that inspired her.
The singer also addressed her age and her ability to keep performing with the necessary energy.
She said: “I don’t even think about my age, to tell you the truth, I just keep going.”
As for when she might finally retire, she said: “I think we’ll just stop when we don’t have any f***ing ideas, when we don’t feel inspired anymore.”
