Kris Jenner has made a name for herself and her family through reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which kept all of us entertained for over a decade.
According to a 2020 Forbes report, the Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch has earned most of her money from the show on which she not only starred but served as executive producer as well. The report estimated that Jenner made $100,000 (£74,227) per episode.
Besides the reality series which has now ended, Jenner also makes money through her involvement in her daughter Kylie’s brand, Kylie Cosmetics, as well as her role as “momager”, managing all of her children’s career.
As of 2021, Kris Jenner’s net worth is estimated to be $170 million (£126million). Here’s how she makes all her money.
The ultimate momager
Jenner has gained a reputation for being the ultimate momager as manager of all six of her children’s careers for which she is reported to take a 10% management cut from each of them.
Speaking about managing her children to The Wall Street Journal Magazine in April 2021 she said: “When it’s your child, you go over and above anything that would be required of you if you were just a proper person getting a typical paycheck,” adding: “I feel like a fireman because I’m always putting out fires all day every day, on some levels.”
Involvement with Kylie Cosmetics
Jenner also plays a large role in Kylie Cosmetics, which has been valued at $620million (£460million) as of August 2021.
In January 2019, Kylie sold a 51% majority stake to a brand called Coty Inc, which owns other cosmetic brands such as CoverGirl, taking home around $600million (£450million) after the deal. As Kylie’s manager, Kris took $60million (£44.5million), according to Harper’s Bazaar.
In April 2020 Kris was also named “interim CEO” of Kylie Cosmetics, before being replaced in May of this year by Coty Americas’ vice-president Andrew Stanleick.
Sponsored content
Another way in which Jenner adds to her massive wealth is by posting sponsored content on her Instagram page, and working with different brands.
Though Jenner herself has never revealed how much money she makes per paid social media post, her daughter Kim is sometimes known to make up to $1million (£740,000) for a sponsored Instagram post – certainly not to be scoffed at.
Property
In August 2020, Jenner sold her home in Hidden Hills, California for $15million in an all-cash deal. According to Dirt, Jenner originally bought the eight-bathroom, six-bedroom home for $10million.
Jenner bought the modern farmhouse-style mansion in 2017 and hired acclaimed designers Tommy and Kathy Clements and Waldo Fernandez to give the place a sophisticated makeover.
The glitzy result was published in Architectural Digest last year and is located directly across the street from Kim and Kanye’s mansion.
