Corrie child star Jude Riordan makes career announcement after harrowing scenes

Coronation Street star Jude Riordan, who plays Sam in the popular ITV soap, has made an amazing career announcement after his recent scenes on the soap that have seen his character deal with the tragic death of his mother.

Jude is one of the soap’s youngest stars, and has made a huge impact upon viewers since he debuted on the show as Nick Tilsley’s long lost son last year in 2020.

At just 10 years old, Jude already has a coveted award.

Picking up the National Television Award for Best Newcomer earlier on in the year, it seems the child star has a bright acting career ahead of him.

Jude’s character Sam has had an emotional few weeks on the cobbles

On Sunday (November 14) his parents revealed some more amazing news when they announced that their son has been nominated for another award, just weeks after his NTA.

Writing on his Instagram account, which is run by Jude’s parents, a message read: “WOW This is brilliant!! My very first Best Soap Performance nomination.

“I am buzzing about this. It’s been such an emotional storyline to play so if you have enjoyed (or maybe not as too sad!) Sam then please VOTE.

“The link is in my stories and my bio, thank you everyone for supporting me.”

This comes as Coronation Street fans have been left in tears after young Sam’s emotional performances following his mum’s tragic death.

Natasha Gaskell (Rachel Leskovac) died after doctors failed to stop internal bleeding after she’d been shot, with the murderer believing that she was Leanne, as the pair both wore the same Halloween costume.

Just the other week, the 10-year-old child star delivered a moving speech when he visited his mum at the undertakers in the heartbreaking scenes.

Sam’s dad Nick finally agreed to take him to see his mum in the funeral home, and Sam read his mum an emotional speech.

The speech was full of emotion and heard him worry that she didn’t know he had loved her.

Viewers were left heartbroken after the reading, with one person tweeting: “Jesus just watched young Sam’s speech in Corrie and just broke me. What a talented young actor.”

We have a feeling this is just the beginning of Jude’s long and successful acting career.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 7:30pm.
