Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen 'feels strange' as she's left alone at Ravenseat

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen said she felt “quite strange” after she was left alone at Ravenseat for the first time in 20 years.

The mum-of-nine documented how she was feeling in the series finale of the Channel 5 show after her youngest daughter Nancy geared up for her first day of school.

The 47-year-old said on the show: “It does feel quite strange not to have the kids about – it feels quite peaceful in a way.”

Luckily husband Clive was still around, so Amanda wasn’t completely on her own.

He said: “I don’t think it’s a sad thing, I think it’s an achievement. I’m very proud of them but it does feel strange without them.”

However it turned out that the Owen kids didn’t quite away from the farm as originally planned.

The family had to film some of the episode themselves as Reuben, 17, and Violet, 11, had tested positive for coronavirus.

Youngsters Nancy, Clemmie and Annas wanted to help look after their older siblings.

Before long, most of the other family members tested positive for Covid but had to carry on working on the farm.

Then Nancy and Annas came down with coronavirus, meaning Nancy couldn’t go to her first day of school.

While she was stuck at home, Nancy and her sister made a photo album of the whole family together.

The young lass was excited to go for her first day at school – especially for school dinners – as she finally was allowed to go.

That was then Amanda and Clive were left on their own for the first time.

The couple have nine children together, though not all of them live at Ravenseat.

Their daughter Raven is at university in York studying to be a vet, but she has much bigger plans for her future than sticking around on the farm.

She’s hoping to get into helping to create vaccinations – and Amanda is all for it.

The Channel 5 star previously told Express: “I dropped her off at university and she’s talking about doing a masters degree, and working in labs on Covid vaccines.

“But that’s all down to her. Of course, as her mother, I’ll be there when she needs me, but I don’t want to take away her independence.

“They have to step up, which I don’t think is a bad thing. It makes them feel important.”
