Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter shares heartbreak over miscarrying quadruplets

Jorgie Porter has spoken for the first time about being pregnant with quadruplets before suffering a tragic miscarriage at 14 weeks.

The Hollyoaks star and her boyfriend, Ollie Piotrowski, found out that they were expecting quadruplets earlier on in the year before having to deal with the trauma of losing them.

Speaking to Fabulous Magazine this weekend, Jorgie has opened up about the tragic loss that she and her partner went through.

Jorgie, who previously admitted that she couldn’t see herself being a mum, had a change of heart when she fell madly in love with boyfriend Ollie.

When they first got together in October 2020, she was still unsure about parenthood, but seven months later and she was ready to come off of oral contraception because she knew that she wanted Ollie to father her children.

Within weeks of coming off the pill, Jorgie did a pregnancy test that came back positive, leaving her and her beau “knocked for six”.

With a history of twins in her and Ollie’s family, the couple decided to go for a scan to see if they were expecting more than one new bundle of joy.

At first Jorgie thought she was expecting triplets when she saw three dots on the screen, but she then booked another scan at the Royal Bolton Hospital, where the couple found out they were actually expecting quadruplets.

The soap star had weekly scans to check on her quadruplets, which were “stressful”.

She had regular scans because more than 60% of multiple babies in one pregnancy are born before 37 weeks.

Speaking to the publication, she explained: “At every scan, we’d have the same worry – do they have heartbeats?”

In August the couple received some devastating news that changed everything. At the 14 week scan, Jorgie and Ollie found out that she’d had a miscarriage.

“It didn’t make sense,” she told the publication.

She explained how she didn’t have any pain or bleeding, and she still “felt pregnant”.

Despite the couple’s devastating loss, they are now stronger than ever.

Jorgie explained: “If we can get through this, we can get through anything.”
