Adele is said to have “walked out” of an interview after a television presenter revealed he hadn’t listened to her recent album.
The pop superstar who returned to the music scene last month with her comeback single, Easy On Me, taken from her fourth studio album, 30, was left shocked by the revelation.
Matt Doran, who presents on Channel 7 in Australia jetted to London on November 4 for a sit down chat with the mum-of-one while she was promoting her record.
It has since emerged that Matt was given a two-week suspension by the network following the shock revelation.
However, the London-born songstress is said to have been less than impressed after he failed to ask questions about her latest album.
During the 20 – 30 minute chat, Adele is said to have asked Matt what he thought about her album that was inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki.
“I haven’t listened to it,” he responded according to Aussie newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
It’s been reported by the MailOnline that Adele then walked out of the interview while other sources claim that the interview had already come to an end by this point.
The publication claim that despite the interview being pre-recorded, Adele’s record label have denied the network the rights to air any clips from their chat.
It’s believed that Seven had spent around $1million (£538k) to secure the chat following her interview with Oprah and her performance at the London Palladium with ITV.
While the record may be heavily inspired by her heartbreaking divorce, Adele revealed to Oprah that she and Simon choose not to discuss the record.
“We don’t talk about [the album]… but he knows what kind of artist I am, that I have to dig deep to tell my stories,” she told the TV legend.
She also revealed that her new album 30 is dedicated to her nine-year-old son Angelo and is a way of showing him “who I am”.
Clarifying her intentions for making the new record, she said that “the whole album is not about him” but about herself instead, although she believes it will help her son Angelo to understand more about her when he is old enough.
While 30 was released just a matter of days ago, the lead single, Easy On Me, flogged a massive 217,000 copies in its first week, securing her third UK Number 1 single.
She is currently tipped to top the official album charts next week.
Adele and Channel 7 have been approached for comment.
