Joey Morgan has died at just 28-years-old, his manager has confirmed.
The actor, who was best known for his role in Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, died unexpectedly as his manager stated it was a “shock” for all.
His representative said: “Joey Morgan passed away early Sunday morning. It was a shock and devastated all of us who loved him. He will be dearly missed.
“We hope everyone understands how painful this is for his loved ones and can respect boundaries and allow them to grieve in private.”
No cause of death has been confirmed at this time.
The director of the film took to Twitter to share led the way for tributes as he shared a photo of the cast alongside a message.
He wrote: “Joey Morgan came into my life nearly nine years ago when I made Scouts. He was quiet, funny, intelligent and thoughtful.
“And when the cameras rolled he was magnetic. He passed today and the news is heartbreaking. I am honoured to have known him.”
Tributes flooded in online as one user wrote: “Crushed to hear the news of Joey Morgan’s passing. Flower is one of my favourite indie films and his phenomenal performance hugely stood out to me. Such a cruel world. Rest in peace, Joey.”
His co-star on Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse Patrick Schwarzenegger said: “What?!? No. Such a hilarious bright star when I worked with him. Wow. This is awful.”
Another said: “Literally made the movie what is is. RIP Joey Morgan.”
Joey was a rising Hollywood star before his untimely death.
He previously worked on the likes of Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, Camp Manna, Flower and Compadres, alongside his big hit on Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
Joey’s last role was in the film Max Reload and the Nether Blasters in 2020.
His TV roles included an appearance on Chicago Med and a recurring role in 2019’s Critters: A New Binge.
Joey’s untimely death has shocked his fans across the globe as many remember their favourite TV moments from the rising star.
