I'm A Celebrity fans beg ITV to cancel show as it's a 'shambles'

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers are begging ITV to axe this year’s series, calling it a “shambles”.

The series has been hit with problems, which started when fan favourite Richard Madeley was forced to quit early because a precautionary trip to hospital when he was unwell meant he’d broken the “COVID bubble”.

Friday’s show was scrapped because Storm Arwen hit Wales, and there was more misery for fans when the next few episodes were canned because the storm damaged the set at Gwrych Castle.

Plenty of viewers now think ITV should call time on this year’s series.

One posted on Instagram: “As much as I love I’m A Celeb this year’s show just doesn’t work. Something just not right about it.”

“This has been an absolute shambles so far,” said another.

One suggested: “Cancel this series and wait until back in Australia, then send in this year’s group and start over.”

Several viewers also pointed out that the contestants were probably able to get back to proper food and more comfortable living conditions while the set was being repaired, which defeats the object of watching them cope with the challenges of living rough.

“I’m A Celeb is finished for this year,” one person tweeted.

“The celebs would have been in a warm comfy bed, with a nice shower and decent food for three straight nights. Completely pointless to carry on now.”

“Is there even any point of having the show this year?” posted another. “Needs to be in Australia or just put on hold tbh.”

However, others said they were just happy that the show will be back tonight (Tuesday).

The show is returning

One tweeted that news of its return put an “instant smile” on their face.

Another posted a message saying they were “so glad” to hear it was coming back, adding: “My Tuesday night in complete.”

I’m A Celebrity is traditionally held in the Australian jungle but has moved to Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales for the past two years because of the coronavirus pandemic.
