Corrie's Simon Gregson 'disappears' during I'm A Celebrity following sudden illness

Simon Gregson went “missing” during the latest instalment of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! which left viewers at home concerned.

During Thursday’s episode of the ITV reality show, seven of the campmates – including Naughty Boy – took part in a special exam.

The celebrities put their general knowledge to the test as they grouped into teams to complete the list of questions which covered eight of the main curriculum subjects in school.

But it wasn’t quite that simple as the star-studded cast were asked to answer the Castle curriculum while a slew of creepie crawlies dropped onto them from above.

Unsurprisingly, Louise Minchin was ready for the challenge as she told her campmates: “Actually, guess what? I actually kind of like exams.”

As Frankie Bridge chuckled in responce, adding: “No surprises there,” with Louise saying: “We’re desperate to go out tonight, aren’t we?”

To which the overexcited Saturdays singer exclaimed: “We’re going ‘out out’!”

But many viewers couldn’t help but notice that their favourite Corrie star wasn’t present during the challenge as they flooded to Twitter to share their concerns for the actor.

One concerned viewer penned: “Simon falling ill after being involved in a trial with rotten veg, Richard fell ill after being in a rotten veg trial …?”

Another added: “@antanddec you can’t scare us like that over Simon,” with a crying emoji.

As a third agreed: “Ant and Dec had me scared for a minute then I thought Simon had left! Don’t do that to me again.”

Luckily the Geordie duo updated viewers as to why he was absent from the trials and reassured them that she would be back in action soon enough.

Dec explained: “Time for a very important challenge now and at stake in this one was the chance to spend the evening at the Castle Inn, the castle’s very own pub.”

Ant added: This one involved all the celebrities except from Simon who was suffering from an upset stomach. Maybe it was something he ate in yesterday’s trial?”

Dec couldn’t help but join in on the hilarious jokes as he went on to complain about Simon’s petty stomach bug after drinking the juice out of four fish eyes during Wednesday’s Bushtucker Trial.

Dec joked: “Oh, I don’t know. He sucks the juice out of a few fish eyes spits it in a cherry glass and downs it in one. Next thing you know, he’s not well.”

Ant chimed in with: “He’s a delicate little flower is Simon Gregson, isn’t he?”

But the cherry on the top of the cake for viewers was when the TV star felt miraculously better when he heard the camp had collectively won the chance to spend the night in the castle pub.

One viewer joked: “Simon Gregson being too ill throughout the day to do anything but being well enough to go pub after work sums up the British public.”

Another added: “I love the fact that Simon had the s***s but still managed a trip to get drunk at the pub. Good work fella.”

A third agreed: “Simon miraculously recovering from his ‘illness’ just in time to go to the pub, get drunk and do karaoke is a mood.”
