Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen reveals her family follow rules on Christmas Day

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has revealed her family follow strict rules on Christmas Day to allow her to cope with all nine children.

The shepherdess shares her children with husband Clive and recently opened up about her family chaos at Christmas during an episode of Our Big Yorkshire Christmas.

The 47-year-old and her husband watched on as their nine children opened their presents in front of the tree.

The family were seen in festive spirits as they sported Santa hats for the occasion.

All smiling and laughing while unwrapping the presents under the tree, Amanda admitted it is important that “with a family of nine” they “don’t go overboard.”

66-year-old Clive agreed with his wife adding: “We get stuff that suits them.”

Though the family stick to the strict rules by not going crazy with gifts the whole family were beaming from ear to ear.

The Channel 5 show saw Amanda and Clive being helped out with the cooking prep by their children who also laid the table for Christmas dinner.

The episode was filmed in 2020, while families were forced to self-isolate in lockdown during the Covid pandemic.

More recently the couple of the Yorkshire farm have faced criticism over their relationship as it came out they had issues within their marriage.

Amanda explained on Lorraine earlier this week how she “gets on with” the speculation.

She said: “You have your difficult moments. But you have to take the rough with the smooth,” Amanda went on, talking about how the family copes with the difficulties.

“We’ve just talked about how you weather a storm. So we are pretty resilient in the hills.

“That’s all you’ve got to do. You’ve got to remember, the bottom line is, if you are proud of what you’re doing, you kind of sort of have to shoulder it.”

The mother of nine added: “In other words; ‘Get on with it’. Ignore it.”
