Holly Willoughby says she got lost while trying to juggle family and successful career

Holly Willoughby says she got lost while trying to juggle a family life and career.

The telly host says she did not know “what music I liked or what I was into” because she was too focused on others.

And the 40-year-old will tell this week’s Jonathan Ross Show that writing new book Reflections helped to heal her.

“I’ve been a very, very busy mum, I’ve got three kids,” she said.

“I think for a long time I’ve sort of prided myself on spinning all these plates and coasting through life, and getting through life.

“I felt like something was missing and when I sat still and sat with myself, I realised that the thing missing was me.”

However, the popular presenter says she has no plans to leave co-hosting This Morning.

“I’m very lucky to work with Phil (Schofield),” said told Ross.

“The magic of that show is us two together when we’re together. I do really love him. I’m not retiring.

“I feel very lucky to be on that show. The show changes so much, I think that’s the beauty of This Morning.

“Recently it’s had the highest ratings it’s had in 15 years.

“It’s doing really, really well which is extraordinary for a show that’s been around for as long as it has.”

Discussing her book Reflections, Holly says she is 100% more comfortable now.

“I’ve lived my life in a lot of fear about what other people think about me, or what people will say about me,” she says.

“I think, and this is a really lovely thing about ageing, you definitely feel more confident in your own skin.”

This Morning fans were devastated on Friday as Holly and her co-star Phillip Schofield announced it was their final show before Christmas Day.

They hosted a rare Friday show today as they took over from Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary for their final appearance on the ITV show before breaking up for Christmas.
