The new king of Gwrych Castle has been crowned, and another series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has been put to bed.
Danny Miller was crowned as the 2021 winner, beating Coronation Street star Simon Gregson to be the second castle victor.
Whilst the series ended on a high, it was a series hampered by medical maladies (Richard Madeley) and Mother Nature (Storm Arwen), but presenters Ant and Dec have emerged stronger than ever with their cheeky jokes.
The Geordie duo’s quick wit has been as sharp as ever – and even made it to Westminster. Here were their primary targets…
Naughty Boy
The music producer provided much of the entertainment in what some viewers thought was a dull series.
During the Savage Stakeout trial on December 1, Naughty was trapped in a wheel and covered in a whole host of castle creatures and critters including frogs, rats, cockroaches and earthworms.
His arms and legs, were covered in the creatures – and he had to withstand them for a total of 30 seconds before moving on.
At one point, Naughty got covered in scorpions, and hilariously shouted: “Are you dumb?!”
Firstly, Ant told Naughty to “stay still” before savagely adding: “And keep your mouth shut.”
Dec then chimed in: “Not for safety, we’re just tired of listening to you.”
While Ant burst out laughing at the put down, Naughty Boy was victorious in the trial, winning 11 stars.
Boris Johnson
Ant and Dec also referenced the ongoing crisis at 10 Downing Street several times in their opening monologues.
This came not long after Ant and Dec also made a dig at the Prime Minister’s baffling “Peppa Pig speech.”
The pointed comments were a thinly veiled swipe at embattled PM Boris Johnson over Christmas parties and quizzes which took place at Downing Street last year, despite the Covid restrictions that were then in place.
On Tuesday December 7’s show Dec said: “It’s all changed in camp now, because yesterday the celebs chose a new leader.
“And that means David [Ginola]’s reign is over. But they didn’t celebrate. They didn’t have a party, they categorically deny any suggestion that they had a party. And this fictional party definitely didn’t involve cheese and wine or a secret Santa,” Ant continued.
The crew members laughed and Dec followed it up with a more direct dig: “Evening Prime Minister… for now.”
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer referenced the pair’s swipe at PM Boris Johnson in Wednesday’s Prime Minister’s Questions.
“It is obvious what happened. Ant and Dec are ahead of the Prime Minister on this. The Prime Minister has been caught red-handed. Why doesn’t he end the investigation right now by just admitting it?”
On that evening’s show, Ant made another dig, saying: “You can’t get away with covering things up”.

Sometimes the drama happens right at the end, and footballer David had some strong words for Ant and Dec during the final episode of the 2021 series.
Dec cheekily told him that he deserved a yellow card, saying: “You went down a bit easily. A bit of a yellow card for simulation.”
Unimpressed David replied: “You have been very nasty with me. I know who you are now.”
After he left, Ant told Dec: “He’s not happy. Not happy at all. He’s going to knock you out.”
However, it seems David quickly forgave them as he branded them “legends” shortly before his exit in fourth place.
