Vernon’s cheeky quip is in reference to the news Covid rules which state that fully vaccinated contacts of a COVID-19 case should take a daily lateral flow test for 7 days to slow the spread of the virus.

The I’m A Celebrity star finally made his This Morning debut on Monday four months later than planned due to coronavirus.

Vernon was set to follow in their footsteps in the final week of August, due to present with Rochelle and Alison Hammond.

However, he was forced to miss out after contracting Covid-19 just days before his presenting role.

Opening Monday’s show, Josie, who became a main host at the last minute after standing in for a poorly Holly last month, shouted: “Give a warm welcome to my co-host Vernon Kay. Vernon welcome to This Morning!”
