American stoner film Dude, Where’s My Car? was released 21 years ago and the famous cast has gone on to some great things including Hollywood careers and achieving A-list status. However, some have not been so lucky…
The film stars consist of stars such as Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott, who play two best friends who find themselves in all sorts of recklessness, plus supporting cast members include Kristy Swanson and Jennifer Garner.
From major Hollywood success to being sentenced to a 7 year prison stint, the cast of the hit film have certainly gone down very different paths in their lives.
Let’s take a look at where they are now…
Ashton Kutcher
In years after his lead role in the iconic film, Ashton Kutcher went on to marry Hollywood actress Demi Moore, who was 15 years his senior.
In her memoir, which was released last year, the actress revealed that Ashton would cheat on her after admitting their relationship lines were “blurred” after they had threesomes together.
The famous pair split in 2013 and Ashton has since moved on to another Hollywood starlet, Mila Kunis.
The Friends With Benefits actress tied the knot with Ashton in 2015 and have since had two children together, after first meeting on the set of That 70s Show in the early noughties.
Erik Aude
Erik Aude played on the muscle heads in the movie and has had the wildest ride of them all, after becoming jailed in Pakistan for drugs charges.
The actor was stripped of his fame after being cruelly duped by a conman and caught trafficking opium from Pakistan to the US, via Dubai and faced a possible death penalty.
Under the illusion he had been simply transporting leather goods, Erik continued to plead his innocence but was sentenced to seven years in one of the world’s most brutal prisons.
His stay in Central Jail in Adiala, Rawalpindi, lead to him fighting for his life, and even killing a fellow prisoner, while also bribing prison officers in order to survive.
Since getting out of jail in 2004, he has become a competitive poker player after learning how to play the game while inside the foreign prison and has also rebuilt his acting career.
Kristy Swanson
Kristy Swanson played Christie Boner has also hit the headlines since starring in the hilarious movie.
The actress was paired with pro-skater Lloyd Eisler on the 2006 series of Skating with Celebrities and their romance created a scandal he left his pregnant wife for her.
In 2007, Kristy and Lloyd’s ex got caught up in some police drama after an altercation with Lloyd’s ex-wife, Marcia O’Brien, became violent between the women.
Kristy ended up being arrested and released a statement at the time confirming the news, saying: “I had to go the police station where I had an appointment at 9 p.m. to begin the process of being arrested.”
Later down the line Kristy also pressed assault charges against Marcie and showed police photos of bruises over her body which she said was caused by her spouse’s ex-wife, claiming she was attacked by her in front of their children.
Seann William Scott
In March 2011, Seann William Scott’s rehab stint was plastered all over the news, with him staying 30 days in a US facility.
According to TMZ, the actor voluntarily chose to check himself into a treatment facility to address unspecified health and personal issues, which have still never been revealed.
After his month at the centre, he then went off to film the fourth American Pie movie, American Reunion.
Many speculated over his check-in and thought it could have been down to alcoholism or drug addiction, but Steann has confessed on many occasions that he is far from his on-screen persona and doesn’t actually enjoy partying or socialising.
Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Garner played Wanda in the film and has since suffered a very public divorce with fellow actor Ben Affleck, with their ten-year marriage coming to an end in 2018.
Rumours of why their marriage ended were put down to Ben’s apparent infidelity with the family nanny, who helped to look after their three children.
Although Jennifer has since denied these claims herself, multiple sources close to the nanny, Christine Ouzounian, told People she was having an affair with the actor and that she was in love with him.
Nowadays, Jennifer is now dealing with Ben’s new and rekindled romance with singer Jennifer Lopez, who Ben has declared to be head over heels for.
Linda Porter
Linda Porter played Mrs Crabbleman in the movie and was famously known for acting stints in Superstore and Twin Peaks.
The American actress passed away aged 86 on September 25th, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
The late star was best known for her recurring role on NBC comedy Superstore as Myrtle, who was one of Cloud 9’s oldest employees on the show.
