EastEnders fans beg for Mick and Janine romance as BBC viewers swoon over chemistry

EastEnders fans have become obsessed with a brand new couple they’re hoping to see – Mick Carter and Janine Butcher.

Although many fans remain as in love as ever with Mick and Linda Carter, Janine coming on the scene has certainly mixed things up, and some viewers have now switched sides.

Linda is away for the meantime and Janine has set up shop behind the bar at the Queen Vic and is happily living in the Carter household.

Janine and Mick have been building a close friendship after he noticed a more humane side to the famous soap villain – but could it be more than friendship brewing?

On Thursday evening’s episode, Janine and Mick were seen singing along to Christmas songs as she was whipping up some eggs in the kitchen.

Mick then quizzed her on his top three eggs as he confirmed to Nancy that they were taking part in the “Best Spouse in the House” competition.

Although she was slightly off, fans couldn’t help but notice that they seemed happier than ever in the sweet scenes.

Another chirped: “Mick seems so much happier wit Janine than he does with… no I won’t speak.”

A third wrote: “Mick and Janine… the chemistry is literally showing.”

Others were left adamant that the pair will be having an affair, with one user writing: “Yeah they’re definitely going to make Janine and Mick have an affair.”

While another wrote: “Haha Janine worming her way in at The Vic, it wouldn’t surprise me if her and Mick ended up sleeping together.”

And it looks like viewers aren’t the only ones with their eyes on Janine, as Nancy very carefully eyed up her newest lodger and had a few choice words to say.

Nancy told Janine: “When I agreed to you staying here it was for a roof over your head, not a place in my dad’s bed Janine.

“I’m watching you.”

Some love the romance, some hate it – but will it happen?

EastEnders resumes on Monday at 8:05pm on BBC.
