Strictly John Whaite's whopping net worth after Bake Off success and huge TV stints

John Whaite’s net worth has been impressive for years – way before he even put on his dancing shoes.

Looking back on Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite’s fantastic career from both his time in the kitchen and out, he has raked in thousands over the years and continues to warm the nation’s heart with his talent, kind heart and fabulous charm.

With an estimated net worth rumoured to be at £2.2 million, the 32-year-old from Chorley has seen incredible success and continues to gather attention across the industry.

But what has he done over the years? Daily Star looks at his impressive career from his stardom on Bake Off to his Strictly success.

Bake Off win

Gracing onto our TV screens at the tender age of 23, a young John first made his public debut all the way back in 2012 – featuring on The Great British Bake Off.

Quickly becoming a front runner for the series, he made for some hefty competition and a name for himself in the baking world as he went on to win series three – little did we know back then that how much of a success the star would become today.

Despite his success on the show, it wasn’t all fun and games for John. One scene of him on the show saw him face a gruesome injury as he sliced his finger open on an electric mixer, leaving viewers at home cringing.

However, his injury didn’t stop him from taking home the crown, as he returned to the show more determined than ever to win.

Nearly 10-years after his fantastic Bake Off win, the star hit the world full-force and most definitely made a small fortune after bagging many cooking slots across the Telly.

Over the years, the baker and chef has had featured slots all over daytime TV.

With cooking stints on This Morning, Lorraine and Steph’s Packed Lunch, John has become a favourite when it comes to watching chef’s in the kitchen – and his culinary skills have certainly left viewers impressed.

Strictly stardom

John will go down in Strictly history, as he and his partner Johannes Radebe are the show’s first ever all male pairing.

Katya Jones and Nicola Adams were named the first ever same sex pairing in 2020, but sadly their time on the show was cut short due to testing positive for Covid-19 and longer isolation rules.

John, however, has managed to shimmy right through to the Strictly final, dazzling the judges each week and finding himself placed at the top of the scoreboard with his and Johanne’s impressive routines.

The Sun previously reported that the show gives each contestant a £25,000 fee for signing up, which rises to £40,000 at the end of October.

With over 128,000 followers on Instagram, his supporters continue to grow – and so does his bank account – as John continues to take it all on.

With the aid of his cookbooks, many TV and media appearances, there’s no stopping this superstar as he continues to make it big.

He even has his own cooking school that he opened on his family’s dairy farm up in Wigan a few years back, called John Whaite’s Kitchen.

There’s no slowing down for John, as he prepares for this week’s Strictly final on Saturday at 7pm, where he’ll be competing against celebrity rivals: TV presenter AJ Odudu and EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis
