Big Brother champ Anthony Hutton unrecognisable 16 years after winning show

Anthony Hutton is unrecognisable 16 years after he won Big Brother series six back in 2005.

The Geordie lad, now 39, won the Channel 4 series back when he was 23, living in the famous house with the likes of Makosi Musambasi, Kinga Karolczak and Maxwell Ward.

He took advantage of the fame he found after the show and did countless appearances at night clubs around the country, while also releasing a 70s disco-inspired exercise DVD.

Anthony was a trainee barber at the time, and took the money he earned off the back of the show to continue his professional trade.

Now, the former television star owns Mr Hutton’s Barbers and Bar in Darlington, in the North East of England.

And he runs his own hairdressing academy, offering aspiring barbers the training they need to make it.

While many were left unable to work during the pandemic, he moved his training online.

In his personal life, Anthony married his long-term girlfriend Sophie Crosby, who is a solicitor, back in 2019.

They welcomed their baby boy Cruz in August of 2021, before celebrating their second wedding anniversary in October.

During his time on Big Brother, Anthony was close friends with Craig Coates and had a bit of a romance with Makosi Musambasi.

Anthony and Makosi got steamy in the hot tub together one night, and she even thought she might have been pregnant.

It wasn’t clear at the time if they’d actually slept together – it wasn’t until 2010 when they had a televised reunion when they revealed all.

On Ultimate Big Brother, Anthony surprised Makosi on a picnic in the garden.

Anthony had denied they’d had sex, saying: “I was going to take a lie detector test. Everyone thinks we did.”

Makosi added: “We didn’t have sex. I am glad we cleared the air now. I hope my mum is watching this.”

Anthony previously told Chronicle Live all about his quick rise to fame after Big Brother.

He said: “”When I first came off the show, my life completely changed, it was just turned upside down.

“I went into the Big Brother house a lad from County Durham who lived at home and came out with people in the street knowing my name.

“The day I got off the show I was being contacted by agents and a couple of days later I was paid £200,000 to do a photo-shoot with OK magazine. From day one it was just crazy.”
