Countryfile’s Julia Bradbury has had some thoughts to share while out and about on her daily walk.
The TV presenter, 51, had a mastectomy in October following a breast cancer diagnosis.
She took to Twitter after filming her latest walk.
In the recording she said: “Hi everybody, I’m back in my pyjamas today.
“I’ve sort of gone backwards this week.
“I’ve been feeling better and stronger every week since my op, but this week I’ve got really flu-ey symptoms.”
The Countryfile star added: “I’ve done a Covid test and that’s come back negative. I’m really phlegmy and coughy and chesty, all I really want to do is stay in bed.
“But I’ve forced myself to come outside and just get 20 minutes out here because I know it will fill my lungs with some good air.
“So I’ve just got to push through a bit and then go back to bed.
“Hope you’re having a good weekend!
“I’m sending lots of love, don’t forget to get your outdoor time – it is so important.”
Julia has been praised for her efforts to raise awareness as she faces her health challenges. She also wrote a message alongside her video, urging her followers to prioritise their mental health.
She wrote: “Many of us live fast-paced urban lives; long working days, long crowded commutes.
“There are so many pressures that affect our mental health.
“That’s why it’s worth making time for nature, even when things get busy and other priorities feel more important.”
Julia found a lump in her breast in March 2020, and the cancerous tumour had grown to at least 6cm when she had it removed during her mastectomy operation.
Her followers agreed with Julia on the benefits of the great outdoors.
One wrote: “Everyone should go out into the countryside everyday, it will refresh your soul, strengthen your immune system and boost your mental health. Hug a tree a day and feel your worries melt away.”
“Looking forward to being back out once the second round of side effects wear off. Too right the outdoors bring you back to life,” said another.
