ITV’s Lorraine has been struck with another 64 complaints after after host Lorraine Kelly made a comment about Covid vaccinations that didn’t go down well with some of her viewers.
The daytime show has received another 254 complaints to the broadcasting watchdog for the segment which was shown on December 7.
This comes after over 1,300 complaints were filed at the time when the segment originally aired, and another 2,400 complaints being made the following week, making the total complaints nearly 3,800.
Appearing on the ITV show, GP Dr Hilary said to Lorraine: “Those people who haven’t been vaccinated, we’d really love you to think again and be vaccinated.”
However, Lorraine responded: “That’s a figure that we have to really concentrate on, 90% of people in hospital have not been vaccinated.”

But after hearing the host’s comments, many viewers were left outraged as the figures were incorrect.
According to Full Fact, The Economist stated in October that 80-90% of hospitalised patients were not vaccinated.
However, the notable organisation concluded that the figure is now not far off from 35 per cent.
They explained: “We’ve not checked the European data, but this is no longer true in Britain, where the proportion of unvaccinated Covid patients admitted to hospital has been falling over time.

“”The latest data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) suggests that the proportion of unvaccinated Covid-19 cases being admitted after presenting to emergency care within 28 days of a positive test in England is now about 35%. When the Economist article was published, this figure was similar at about 36%.
“The Economist has confirmed to Full Fact that the number it used was out of date.”

Fans of the hit show were furious, with many taking to social media to rant about what they heard.
One person stated: “Assume @DrHilaryJones will be retracting that statement on tomorrow’s TV? Or do we need to put in an Ofcom complaint about it being misleading?”
While a second added: “A second penned: “A figure to focus on because its factually incorrect from @DrHilaryJones. 36% of Covid patients in hospital unvaccinated not 90%.”
