BBC Pointless star Richard Osman insists Doctor Who star girlfriend is 'the one'

Pointless host Richard Osman reveals he has found “the one” after things go from strength to strength with his Doctor Who actress girlfriend.

The BBC host embarked on a romantic relationship with his long-term friend Ingrid Oliver last summer and he firmly believes she is his “soul mate”

His romance with the actress comes 14 years after Richard divorced the mother of his two children.

The 51-year-old knew Ingrid, 44, on a platonic basis for many years but things only hotted up between the pair last year.

The actress, who played Petronella Osgood in the BBC sci-fi drama, has since moved into Richard’s London home where they’ve spent the past year together.

Featuring on the Christmas Day edition of Desert Island Discs, Richard said: “I’m happy with myself, I’ve got these beautiful kids, I’ve met the woman who I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.

“That thing of competition and ambition, you soon realise that rocket fuel disappears and it’s about happiness and my kids bring me happiness and Ingrid brings me happiness.”

According to reports, Richard finalised his divorce from his former wife in 2007 and shares two children with her, a daughter Ruby and son Sonny.

Across the last few years, Richard has also dated Absolute Radio host Emily Dean and jazz singer Sumudu Jayatilaka, though both relationships didn’t last long.

However, his relationship with Ingrid reportedly began at a dinner party after the first UK lockdown and is now a year and a half in, with a source claiming the author had told friends she “is the one”.
