Strictly stars Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara have become godparents as the couple made the special announcement to Janette’s 494,000 Instagram followers on Christmas Day.
Aljaz posted a series of photos of his loved ones celebrating his niece Tisa being christened.
One photo saw Aljaz and Janette holding the baby in front of a celebratory cake, while another snap saw the Strictly stars holding Tisa as the baptism was taking place.
Aljaž proudly captioned the shot: “Christening of our little Tisa today. Family time is everything! Proud of becoming her godfather and godmother.”
It’s been a very special holiday season for Aljaz and Janette as the couple had until very recently been unable to travel back to Slovenia due to the pandemic.
But last week, Aljaz, 31, was seen breaking down in tears in an emotional video shot by his wife as he finally reunited with his sister Lara after two years. Aljaz and his family then went home for a good home-cooked lunch and time with his parents.
“Two years and a new baby niece later but cuddles and love all around for the next few weeks,” wrote Janette as she shared the video to social media.
Aljaz and Janette have been married since July 2017.
Janette, 38, was one of Strictly’s professional dancers for seven years before leaving to host It Takes Two alongside Rylan Clark-Neal.
Meanwhile, Aljaz has just completed another series of Strictly – his ninth – where he was partnered with Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies.
He also recently took part in Strictly’s Christmas special, with BBC news reading legend Moira Stewart as his partner.
Moira and Aljaz performed a salsa on December 25 which Craig Revel Horwood gushed over saying: “I really, really enjoyed that.”
Meanwhile, Aljaz and Janette’s christening pictures received lots of positivity from fans.
One wrote: May today be a wonderful and joyous day for your gorgeous little Tisa. Lots of love,” as a second said: “Congratulations to the best godfather and godmother.”
A third added: “Awww bless you both, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that one day it’ll be your turn real soon xx.”
