Rod Stewart has said he “misses” old pal Elton John and offered an olive branch to repair their friendship after a bitter-long feud.
The friends fell out almost four years ago when Rod blasted Elton’s retirement tour saying it “stinks of selling tickets”.
But when singer Rod was asked on a US TV show to share a public message for Sir Elton, he said: “Love you baby.
“Just good luck and I am so bloody annoyed that you have a Number One album.”
The 76-year-old told fans: “I miss him. He just had a hip op so I do wish him well. We still love each other.”

The mates haven’t breathed a word to each other since Elton, 74, rebuffed Rod’ the Maggie May star’s offer for his sons to play on his football pitch.
In November last year, the Pinball Wizard star said he was ready to end the disagreement in time for Christmas.
However, Sir Rod, while promoting his new album The Tears of Hercules in America, told reporters they now speak only through interviews.

The star admitted: “I put something out there and it will be in the evening papers and he’ll say something in our morning papers. That is how we fight our battles.”
The star said his offer to have Elton’s two sons play on his pitch didn’t get a response and that they “have not spoken since.”
Elton promised to send Rd a card and give him a “big hug” but confessed: “In the end, I just sent an email to his assistant.

“It said: I wanted to be p****d at first but we’ve known each other for so long it’s water under the bridge. Who cares? Good luck with your new album.”
Before the star topped the UK’s Christmas charts, it was revealed how Ed Sheeran almost killed the singer while they filmed their new festive track.
The A-Team hitmaker was left terrified when he mistakenly kicked a gift with a bell inside in the direction of the legend and it narrowly missed his head.
Describing the momentous moments on the duet of Merry Christmas, Sheeran said: “I almost killed him with a bell on the video.
“I’m dressed up as a sort of sexy Santa Claus and I kick a present, but the present had a big metal bell on top of it.
“I showed him the footage of it today because we slowed it down, and the bell flew past his head and would have cracked him in the head.
“Oh my gosh, the horror that went through my body when it was flying through the air.”
