Walk the Line and Glow Up star Maya Jama is reportedly engaged to her US Basketball star boyfriend Ben Simmons.
It’s claimed that Ben, 25, proposed to Maya, 27, over the festive period, after Maya spent Christmas at the Basketball star’s £3.7 million mansion in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Reports suggest that the couple have reportedly told close friends and family about the proposal, after confirming the news at a small family gathering last week, but have decided to keep the news low-key for now.
A source told The Sun: “Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her, he picked up the ring on Jewelers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed.
“He chose the ring himself and felt he knew exactly what she would want. Maya said yes and they’re both thrilled.”
The source claimed that Ben had been anxious ahead of getting down on one knee to Maya.
A social media post that has since been deleted also added to speculation after tattooist Philly Joe shared a post alongside the caption: “Honored and humbled to have gotten this opportunity to tattoo my boy @bensimmons and his fiancée.”
Ben and Maya confirmed that they were dating in early 2021 after the couple were spotted attending Wimbledon together.
They have also been spotted on holiday, with Ben paying tribute to Maya in an Instagram story, captioned: “Happy birthday to this beautiful girl @mayajama.”
Prior to dating Ben Simmons, Maya Jama was in a relationship with musician Stormzy, before the couple split up in 2019.
However, it is reported that the two have remained friends and the stars were even pictured together catching up at the 24th GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2021 in September.
Maya Jama has also recently been seen hosting the new ITV talent show Walk the Line, alongside a judging panel including Gary Barlow, Dawn French and Alesha Dixon.
Daily Star has approached Maya’s representatives for comment.
