'Unlucky in love' Coach Trip winner unrecognisable after 10 years and tying the knot

Coach Trip winner Rob Short was one part of the first-ever duo to have remained on the coach for the full thirty days in the show’s history.

But now 12 years later the contestant, who’s now married, looks completely unrecognisable.

Taking to Twitter, Coach Trip winner Rob Short from the show’s 6th series posted a picture of himself all suited and booted for a day at the races – looking completely differently 12 years after winning the Channel 4 show.

He captioned the Tweet: “Day out at @NewmarketRace – enjoying the superb Champions Gallery! #raceon.”

His Twitter profile picture revealed him walking beside his wife on their wedding day – things have since changed for the contestant as during his Channel 4 TV stint in 2011 he called himself ‘unlucky in love’.

Rob is known for appearing on the show back in 2011 with his mate Timmy Smith, who at the time were both students at Kent University.

Together, the funny duo had been crowned the series’ champions and they made history as the first-ever pair to have remained on the coach for the full thirty days compared to the show’s previous seasons.

They received three out of five votes on the show’s final programme aired in March 2011, and were duo was awarded first prize, with their reward being another coach trip for their efforts.

Coach Trip follows seven groups of two tourists on a 30-day holiday with their guide Brendan Sheerin.

During the whole 30 episodes, the funny pair received only one yellow card throughout their time on the programme and travelled to a whole host of exciting destinations, including Milan, Bordeaux, and Morocco.

Rob and Timmy made Coach Trip history in 2011

Reflecting on their milestone accomplishment, Rob said in 2011: “We honestly never had any thoughts about winning! We were just so delighted to get to the end.”

He added: “We very nearly dropped out on day 6 when we were insanely hungover! But eventually, you get to a stage when you are so tired that adrenaline keeps you going. We’d have never forgiven ourselves if we’d walked due to tiredness.”

After a two-year break, Celebrity Coach Trip returned this year and featured the likes of Matt Richardson, Sophie Kasaei, and Linda Robson – headed by international tour guide Brendan Sheerin.

Celebrity Coach Trip 2022 started on Monday, January 3, 2022, and will air on E4. The show will also be available on All 4.
