Lisa Marie Presley is the daughter of music legend Elvis Presley, who would have been 87 on January if he had survived his tragic death in 1977. But what is she up to now?
From having super famous parents to then go on to marry superstar partner Michael Jackson – her life has definitely been a wild and very public one.
But these days she’s a little more behind the scenes than on the front pages as she laps up homely family life with her children, having stepped back from the Hollywood limelight.
But what else has she been doing? Let’s have a look…
Finding her feet
Lisa was born February 1, 1968, and is the sole heir to her father’s estate, with the musician passing away when she was just nine years old.
She has even tried following his her father’s footsteps and released a number of albums of her own including To Whom It May Concern and Now What.
Her first studio album went straight to platinum and was praised for having a “distinctive flair”.
Living arrangements
The star turned her back on the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles in exchange for living a quainter life in East Sussex.
She moved to a 50-acre sheep farm in the rural village of Rotherfield.
On her move at the time, Lisa said: “I had to leave LA. It was like living in a goldfish bowl. I had tour buses driving past our house, looking in like we were on show, and celebrities hanging out wherever we went.”
However, these days she moved back to celebrity-filled Calabasas, California.
Marriages
Lisa Marie has been married a total of four times, including to famous late singer Michael Jackson, with who she was with for two years.
Firstly, she was married to another musician called Danny Keough who she shares two children before divorcing one another in 1994.
Shortly after her divorce was finalised, a mere twenty days to be precise, the singer then married Michael Jackson but the pair also split two years later in 1996.
Lisa-Marie later opened up about the split, revealing they didn’t have children because she “didn’t want to have to get into a custody battle” with him.
She said in 2010: “I did want to, but I just wanted to make sure.
“I was looking into the future and thinking, ‘I don’t ever want to get into a custody battle with him.'”
Jackson’s partner Debbie Rowe fell pregnant with Paris just 20 days after his split from Presley, something which she said “didn’t surprise her”.
She added to Oprah: “She was there the whole time telling him that she would [have his child].
“He would tell me, ‘Debbie said she’ll do it.’ That’s how he knew to handle it, ‘If you’re not going to do it, this person will.'”
She then tied the knot with Nicholas Cage, which lasted just 108 days in 2002.
Then finally she went on to marry her music producer Michael Lockwood, with who she had twin daughters. But they also divorced after 10 years of marriage.
Weight loss
Lisa’s father Elvis Presley famously passed away, aged 42, while being majorly overweight and dependent on prescription drugs.
The star has since admitted that she worries about dying young like her dad – and says these fears prompted her to lose weight.
A few years ago, Lisa decided to shape up and get into the “best shape of her life” and after turning her life around at 46 then weighed the same as she did when she was a teenager.
At the time, she told People: ‘Knowing my family history – my father’s side is totally not healthy and they have shorter life spans, while my mom’s side is super fit with long life spans – I didn’t know where I would land. So I said, “Okay. I’m going to play it safe and try to be as healthy as I can be.
‘I’m at the weight I was at when I was a teenager. I love the way clothes fit right now.”
Movie star daughter
Lisa Marie has four children as mentioned, but her daughter who she shares with Danny Keough is rather famous herself.
Riley, formerly known as Danielle Riley Keough, is now 32-years-old and has an impressive film roster.
Prior to acting, she began modelling at age 15, including appearances at fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior, as well as appearing on the cover of Vogue.
At 20, she made her feature film debut and appeared in a supporting part in the musical biopic The Runaways in 2010, portraying Marie Curie.
She has also starred in other movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road, American Honey, It Comes at Night, Zola and Logan Lucky.
Son’s suicide
But things haven’t been as rosy with all of her kids, with her only son passing away aged 27.
TMZ reported that Benjamin Keough, 27, died from suicide, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Los Angeles.
Presley’s representative Roger Widynowski said in the statement. “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter.”
Not much else was known about Benjamin and was described as the recluse of the famous family.
Net worth
Lisa has an estimated net worth of USD$300million (221,713,110.00), according to The Richest list.
She inherited her rocker father’s estate when she was 25, which was reported to be worth about USD$100million (£73,882,000), but it is said to have sold off most of it.
