A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton has announced that she’s split from her husband Alex Goward.

The couple tied the knot in 2012 and have two children together, Rocco and Tahila.

The TV presenter shared the sad news on Instagram on Saturday morning alongside a quote which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

She wrote in her caption: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.

“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”

When the pair tied the knot nine years ago, they got wed in Surrey, and Laura walked down the aisle to Ice Dance from the film Edward Scissorhands, with film scores playing a big part in the theme of their wedding.

The confirmation of the pair splitting comes after Laura revealed to her fans that that she was moving house after spending nine years in her home.

Just the other day she shared a video of her home where she penned a moving caption which read: “I wish I could say I look like this photo right now but I don’t because, since the start of the new year we have been packing up our home ready to move.

“Today we close the door and say goodbye to a home that we have loved and enjoyed for the last 9 years -the longest I have lived anywhere in my entire adult life!”

Opening up further about the home that she and her family resided in for almost a decade, Laura continued: “It was a home that we transformed (as you can see in the photos), but MORE importantly it was a home where we created some incredible memories that we will cherish forever…
