Netflix also posted a video uploaded to the Emily in Paris Instagram account, which compiled moments from Emily’s time in Paris, included the words “New Year, New Possibilities.”

The quirky show, made by Sex and the City creator Darren Star, follows Emily, an American marketing executive as she frolics around Paris after the marketing firm where she works acquires a French marketing company.

Season two saw the episode cut as Emily’s Parisian life was left hanging in the balance with the choice of a job promotion at Savior’s Chicago office or, to stay in the City of Love at Sylvie’s brand-new agency.

Darren Star told Glamour that he’s already been thinking about what’s next for Emily, noting that he has an idea what she will decide to do when season three returns.

He revealed: “There’s no right decision here. There’s no one decision that’s going to make everybody happy or that’s even going to make Emily happy,” Star tells us. “She has some tough choices, and she’s put in the middle of a lot of sticky situations at the end of the season.”

Fans have been calling for Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall to make an appearance on the show ever since it was revealed that her Sex and the City character, Samantha Jones, had relocated to London, though Netflix have not commented on the hype.

Season two of the romantic comedy series dropped on Netflix in December 2021 and continued to be a massive hit for the streaming service as Emily continued her Parisian adventures, got wrapped up in a love triangle, and met a new man in French class.

In a press statement released in May 2021, Netflix revealed that Emily in Paris had been viewed by 58 million households during its first 28 days on the streaming platform, making it Netflix’s most popular comedy series of 2020.
