Former Skins actress Megan Prescott has opened up about the challenges she faced getting started in stripping alongside her acting career.
Megan starred as Katie Fitch in the BAFTA-winning series, playing the role with her twin Kathryn Prescott, who featured as Emily Fitch.
Alongside her acting career, the former teen star has pursued a career in bodybuilding and has competed in national competitions with her heavily sculpted boyd.
More recently, Megan has re-ignited her enthusiasm for stripping, starting an OnlyFans page, as well as performing at a “virtual strip club experience”.
Now, speaking on the Strippers in the Attic podcast, Megan reflected on some of her awkward early attempts to get started in the adult industry.
“I should probably preface everything in this episode by saying that I was a terrible stripper,” she laughed.
Megan explained that she had visited various strip clubs around London, handing out her CV as if she were applying for a typical part-time job.
The actress had limited success at first, remembering: “One of them thought I was saying, ‘can I audition to be a bartender here’, and I was like, ‘no, I want to be a stripper here’, and he was like, ‘oh, no’.”
And, when she was finally accepted for an audition at a club, Meghan revealed that her striptease didn’t go as she had planned.
“I was trying to take this thong off, bending my knees, so I just looked like I was in a toilet taking my underwear off,” she remembered.
“And I think I tripped up, I got the thong caught on the heel bit.
“I took a bow at the end, it was a semi-courtesy. Because I always like to add a touch of comedy, and I was like ‘this is an awkward thing, there’s like two old men, I’m standing naked and I just f***ed the audition’.
“I left my underwear on stage, so I had to run back on and grab it, and then I ran upstairs.”
And despite still engaging in sex work, Megan admitted that she is glad to no longer be working in nightclubs.
She explained: “The hours of strip clubs, I was just like nocturnal. I don’t drink, and I don’t like late nights, and I don’t like loud music.
“I think being neurodiverse has been one of the reasons why I’ve found sex work to be really, really helpful, especially with OnlyFans, because that takes away the whole in-person chat, and I can think about what I’m going to type.
“It is still a lot of work, but I enjoy it.”
