Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent – best known on the ITV cobbles as Sophie Webster – has reportedly quit the soap after becoming a mum-of-two.
The star, 29, hasn’t been seen on-screen since before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.
And according to The Sun, an insider has insisted there are “no talks” going on to bring her back to set – though she reportedly does want to turn to other acting roles towards the end of 2022.
The source told the publication: “Everyone thought Brooke would be coming back to the soap but her contract ended two years ago and there are no talks about bringing her back on.
“She is loving being a mother of two young boys and plans to be a full-time mum most the time.
“She is making good money from her own company and from various other Instagram posts – and has Kean [Bryan’s] impressive football salary – so she isn’t keen to get back to the soap’s gruelling schedule.”
They went on to add that though Brooke has her sights set on acting at the end of the year, “it won’t be on the cobbles”.
Brooke is now a mum-of-two, giving birth to her second son Monroe in May 2021. She also shares Mexx, two, with football star Kean Bryan.
The pair have been in a relationship since 2016.
In Soapland, Sophie was last seen heading off to go travelling in Cambodia after arranging to go with girlfriend Paula, but the pair broke up before they could leave together.
And it appears Coronation Street bosses have no plans to kill off her character.
In August last year, Brooke confirmed to Daily Star that she would be “postponing” her future work, explaining: “I left [Corrie] to have my first little boy and then I always knew I wanted my children close together so then I had my other little boy, and I’m just being a mum at the minute.
“Anybody that’s got children will tell you how hard it is to even to put the washing in the washing machine.
“So yeah, I’m just being a mum and getting myself back and trying to get us into a routine and focusing on them.
“It’s kind of a decision that we made as a family and it’s just nice to have that special time with them without having major distractions of what’s been going on.”
The star has definitely been busy in her spare time as well – and, as she isn’t currently contracted to Corrie, can plug products as she isn’t bound by ITV rules.
She has even partnered with Asda, along with running her very own lifestyle brand Oh So B – which stocks various stationery items.
Daily Star has contacted Brooke’s reps for comment.
