Sinead O’Connor inundated with support as she apologises to fans for 'worrying' tweets

Sinead O’Connor has apologised to her loyal legion of fans following a concerning series of tweets that caused concern for the singer’s welfare after the death of her son.

On Friday, the 55-year-old singer was admitted to hospital after fans feared the star was at risk as she told users on social media that her son Shane’s passing was “no one’s fault but my own.”

After the devastating news broke that her 17-year-old had passed away, Sinead’s fiercely loyal fans started to share their concerns for the doting mum as she continued to share her grief online.

The star later deactivated her account after posting the concerning tweets which sent fans into a frenzy as they panicked the singer was in danger.

The star returned to her social media account to reassure users that she was safe and well as she continues to process the loss of her son.

She wrote: “I’m sorry for what I tweeted yesterday. I’m very upset. My son was the love of my life.

“I am sorry I’ve upset Tusla and just about every other human being on earth also. I am ruined without my son. I am sorry I’ve upset anyone. I’m a t**t.

The star was soon flooded with support from her loving fans online to show her she isn’t battling through this alone.

One user wrote: “You’re not a t**t, it takes a big person to apologise, you’re going through a lot … go easy on yourself x”.

Another fan added: “Do not feel you have anything to apologise for Sinead, there are no words to express the anguish and horror you are going through, you are a warrior but even warriors feel pain.

“Your beautiful baby will always be with you, you will see signs that only you will understand.”

The singer was left heartbroken after her beloved boy took his own life aged just 17

A third supporter chimed in with: “Oh Sinead, you have nothing to be sorry for. Nothing at all. Ever. So many of us here & many took immediate action to ensure you got help because *we* care.

“I cannot imagine the immense pain you are in. Thinking of you and Shane all of the time.”
