Actress and former Corrie star Kym Marsh opened up about how petrified she is about baring all in saucy sex scenes for an upcoming theatre performance.
The 45-year-old mum-of-three has revealed she’s “absolutely terrified” of taking her clothes off on stage ahead of her performance in the theatre adaptation of the classic 1980s film, Fatal Attraction.
Kym will be playing the disregarded saucy lover Alex Forrest in the theatre remake.
Kym told The Sunday Mirror’s Notebook : “Oh, I’m terrified, absolutely terrified. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been in the acting game for a long time now, and this is something I’ve never actually done – it’s going to be a challenge in itself.
She added: “But I think once I’ve done it once it will be done. And it’s not real! It’s just another side to the part I’m playing.”
The role originally had been played by Glenn Close in the 80s version of the film, and see’s Kym’s character involved in some very intimate and saucy sex scenes.
Kym continued: “Obviously, taking some of your clothes off on stage is quite daunting, but it will be alright – I’ll just keep getting in that gym.”
Corrie star Kym, who first graced onto the cobbles back in 2006, revealed that she’s joined up with a personal trainer ahead of her new acting stint.
It’s been nearly two decades since Kym last performed in front of a live audience and on the theatre stage.
Last October, Kym married her military boo, Scott Ratcliff,33, an army major, who she described as her “very fit” other half.
In a recent interview, Kym raised how she wants to inspire other mums to be proud of their post-baby bodies.
She said: “My stomach has always been a grey area for me, but that’s just because of my children.”
“I had my kids, and now I’ve got stretch marks, but so be it. I’m happy.”
Kym will appear in an all-new stage adaptation of Fatal Attraction alongside fellow ex-Coronation Street star Oliver Farnworth.
