Holly Willoughby replaced on This Morning by Rochelle Humes in huge presenting shake-up

Holly Willoughby has been replaced on This Morning by Rochelle Humes, in what can only be described as a huge presenter shake-up.

Holly will be absent “for the next few weeks”, with Rochelle instead taking over the hosting reins in her place – leaving fans baffled.

Rochelle initially announced the news on her Instagram page, posting a chic snap as she rocked a pair of brown leather trousers and a ribbed cream jumper, along with a pair of suave brown heeled sandals.

Rochelle explained: “Back at @thismorning. In for my girl @hollywilloughby for the next few weeks… Hope to see you at 10.”

The songstress grinned in the series of candid snaps, clearly chuffed to be taking up the seat next to regular presenter Phillip Schofield in Holly’s absence.

Holly hasn’t yet addressed her absence from the show, though Phil was on hand to explain to viewers what his co-star was up to, as Rochelle will be “keeping her seat warm” for an entire two weeks.

Phil told fans: “She’s off with The Iceman – she’s off for two weeks. So Rochelle’s here for the next two weeks.”

As Rochelle replied: “I’ve come to hang out, keeping her seat warm!”

Holly is busy with Wim ‘The Iceman’ Hoff and comedian Lee Mack as she hosts BBC show Superstar Survival, which follows a series of celebrities “defeat their demons in sub-zero temperatures”.

The six-part series promises “genuine reality, high drama, jeopardy and plenty of laughs.”

Speaking about its release, Holly gushed: “I can’t wait to team up with Lee and Wim on this show. Lee is a favourite in our house because he’s so hilariously funny and I’ve been a fan of Wim for a long time – he’s a genius who’s incredibly passionate about helping others.

“This show is going to be brilliantly entertaining and you never know… you may find out some things that could help you along the way too!”

However, despite her absence from This Morning, Holly will be flying back to the UK at weekends to film Dancing On Ice alongside her on-screen bestie Phil – so they won’t be missing each other too much.

A source reassured The Sun earlier this month that despite her new career move, Holly doesn’t plan to bid a fond farewell to This Morning any time soon.

The insider said: “Holly loved I’m a Celeb so much it gave her the confidence to strike out on her own and do more mainstream solo TV projects. Holly did an excellent job filling in for Ant and was one of the highlights of the show that year.

“She has high career ambitions and is starting the year as she means to go on.

“However, she absolutely loves This Morning and her on-screen partnership with Phillip, so isn’t going anywhere long-term. She’s just grateful ITV bosses are giving her the freedom to do her own projects.”

This Morning airs from 10am weekdays on ITV.
