Celebs Go Dating stars open up on epic launch show twist as explosive series kicks off

Celebs Go Dating has returned to our screens with a bang – and a huge twist.

Matchmakers Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson are joined by Tom Read Wilson again for the new series as they open the doors to their agency once again.

Fans of the E4 dating show will see new sides to some of the UK’s most talked-about stars – including Daily Star’s very own columnist Ryan-Mark Parsons – over the next few weeks as the dating gurus plays Cupid.

In Monday’s series opener, fans watched Tom drop a major bombshell of the six new celebrities looking for love.

The usual mixer event which usually sees the famous face take their pick from a batch of sexy singletons was cancelled.

Instead, the group had to go on a blind date straight away with six mystery guests all in the same room.

Speaking to Daily Star at the Celebs Go Dating launch event hours before the first show, Married At First Sight UK star Nikita Jasmine said: “The blind date situation made me nervous.

“I’m not even a nervous person but you just didn’t know what to expect.

“It was so weird because we were all on the dates in the same room.

“I had Ulrika next to me, Abz in front of me.

“We were expecting to be going to a mixer with hundreds of people and chatting to everyone.”

Daily Star columnist and The Apprentice candidate Ryan-Mark added: “It was really different from past series and whats been done before.

“Fans can expect more twists and plenty of drama.”

Musician Abz, formerly a group member of chart-topping boyband 5ive, said: “We were thrown in the deep end with the blind dates.”

Ulrika Jonsson, Chloe Brockett, Miles Nazaire, Marty McKenna and Jessika Power are also participants in the 2022 series of the show.

The blind date aspect is not the only new addition to the series as there’s the new Star Dater award.

Explaining the tweak to the show format, love guru Paul explained: “The Star Dater is the person that we considered to be the person who has listened the most and executed the most in terms of what we’ve advised in the agency.

Co-star Anna added: “The line-up is explosive and I was very excited when I found out who was going to be on the show.

“With the Star Dater challenge, you will find that two of our celebrities lose in a forfeit, and have to do something that they really don’t want to do.

“I think we can all be entertained when we watch that.”

Celebs Go Dating airs weeknights on E4 at 9pm
