Connor Ball has revealed Ben Foden owns his own spray tan gun ahead of his appearance on Dancing on Ice this weekend.
After watching last week’s jaw dropping performance on the ITV show, the second batch of celebrities are ready to give it their all as they show off their new moves on the ice rink this Sunday.
And while they make sure to put in the extra hours ahead of the big night, some of the contestants have gone the extra mile and bought some of the essential supplies in advance of the opening night.
As the show night nears, the 25-year-old pop star couldn’t keep his sporting friend’s secret quiet any longer as he explained how the 36-year-old will be preparing for the big show.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star and other publications, The Vamps member shared his fellow co-star’s night time routine as the Rugby player prepares for the ice skating competition.
When asked if the stars were looking forward to all the glitz and the glamour that comes with the ITV show, Connor spilled the beans that one of his fellow stars had already become quite familiar with one aspect of the glamorous transformation process.
He confessed: “Well we just found out Ben has his own machine for fake tanning so he said he’s gonna do me.”
Completely embarrassed, Ben explained: “It’s my wife’s machine,” as his face went bright red.
And it didn’t take long before his other co-stars started aiming their hilarious jokes at the sportsman’s expense.
The singer argued: “That’s not what I heard,” as Rachel Stevens chimed in with: “He’s loving the Lycra as well; he’s asked for more and more sparkles.”
Connor joked: “There’s no stopping him now,” as the room erupted into laughter.
It was at this point that Ben decided to go along with the inside joke as he added: “I can’t stand up otherwise you’re going to see that I’m in Lycra right now.”
Aside from the preparation needed for hair and makeup, the sports star has also shared some of his tell-tale signs that he has made a mistake in the routine.
When asked how the training has gone now that he has seen some of his fellow skaters out on the ice, he admitted: “I’m really not very flexible. I don’t bend at the knee well at all.
“I always look down at my feet when I’m doing something I’m not supposed to. Everything you’re not supposed to have as an ice skater, I have them all as it turns out.
“So, I’ll do a bit of the routine, and he [his coach, Steven] says, ‘Oh are you having fun?’ and I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, yeah’ and he’s like, ‘Well, tell your face. Have a word’.”
The professional rugby player has been partnered with professional figure skater Robin Johnstone as he tries to make it all the way to the end of the competition and inherit the crown from last year’s winner Sonny, Jay.
The other half of the star-studded line up also includes Love Island star Liberty Poole, S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens, Olympic athlete Stef Ried and professional dancer Regan Gascoigne.
Viewers will return to see the other half of the contestants on Sunday to see who will be battling it out to keep their place in the competition against Ria Hebden.
Dancing on Ice continues on Sundays at 6.30pm on ITV.
