Gary Barlow does tend to keep the amount he shares online somewhat low key, but fans have been updated on his, and his childrens’ milestones.
This year, Gary will be celebrating 22 years married his wife Dawn and their eldest son, Daniel, will also be turning 22 in August of this year.
From announcements to celebrations, Gary does give his fans a sneak-peek into the life of his family, especially when it comes to snaps of himself and Dawn.
Gary doesn’t often share snaps of his children online with the family mostly trying to live a private life.
However he does share updates about the three of them and he’s been open with his fans regarding the heartbreaking loss of their fourth child Poppy.
Living life away from the public eye, Gary’s family are focusing on a low key upbringing, from heading off to university to birthday celebrations.
To celebrate Gary turning 51 today, Daily Star has looked into his famous family and the lives they live, from his life with his wife to the achievements of his children.
Life with Dawn
Gary and Dawn met in 1988, but it wasn’t until 1995 that their romance really started to take off after she joined him on tour as a dancer.
The duo made their first public appearance as a couple at the 1996 BRIT Awards and later married on January 12 in 2002.
They have been inseparable ever since the pair first met and to celebrate 22 years together this year, Gary shared a series of snaps of the duo over the years on Instagram.
He wrote: “Happy 22nd wedding anniversary Mrs B. Well what a time we’ve had. So many adventures. Four beautiful children. Here’s to the next 22 and beyond. Check out the pics of the day we first met – 1988! Shocking!”
Photos of Gary sand Dawn in a video together popped up alongside the snaps as a young Gary appeared on screen alongside a young Dawn who was donning a bralet and tassle skirt alongside him.
Lookalike son
Over the years fans can’t help but notice the resemblance between Gary and his son Daniel.
Many fans have recognised that Daniel looks like Gary in the ’90s, when he first rose to fame with Take That.
Although it’s unclear what Daniel is up to in his life, it was only in August 2021 that his family celebrated his 21st birthday in a sweet home party.
While Gary does keep his family out of the spotlight, he couldn’t help but share some images of Dan’s balloons as the family celebrated the big milestone in style.
Two daughters
Gary has two daughters, one named Emily, 19, and the second named Daisy, 13.
Again, Gary shares the occasional photos of his daughters, but they rarely feature in front of the watchful eyes of his 853,000 Instagram followers.
The star will often share posts on his Instagram story and snaps regularly occur on the girls’ birthdays.
His youngest, Daisy, is still based at home, while the older daughter, Emily, has gone to university, which Gary confirmed on Instagram last week.
He wrote: “Just home from a lovely break. We said goodbye to our Emily who goes off to uni for four years! [crying face emoji], but we all had fun. Relaxed and now ready for another crazy year!”
Tragic loss
Poppy Barlow, Gary and Dawn’s youngest child, was stillborn. She sadly died on August 4, 2012.
After her death, Gary didn’t talk about it publicly for some time, but in his autobiography in 2018, he wrote: “When she was born it was like a light came into the room.
“It was lovely, it was gorgeous, we both took turns cuddling her, and we took pictures. It was one of the best hours of my life I’ve ever experienced in the midst of the hardest time of my life. It was very powerful, that hour was.”
Gary shared a poignant photo of himself and Dawn on the anniversary of Poppy’s death which saw the pair looking out towards the sea.
At the time he wrote: “Thank you for all your kind messages yesterday – we soldier on [broken-heart emoji].”
The loss of Poppy has stayed with the family in the years that followed and they continue to remember their sweet daughter every year.
