The word ‘trainspotting’ isn’t all about shooting up heroin in on the streets of Edinburgh, as the film suggests.
Beloved TikTok and Instagram star Francis Bourgeois has reclaimed the word by sharing video of his passion, actually spotting trains.
Francis has racked up 1.3 million dedicated followers and has been sharing fun times with the likes of Thierry Henry and Joe Jonas, as well as a featuring on ITV’s This Morning.
His feel-good videos have proved to be a small chunk of harmless fun during the day and people are also inspired by his apparent enthusiasm, as well as his fashion sense.
Francis’ ‘drip’ has now earned him a collaboration with some of the fashion world’s biggest names and has starred in one of their adverts.

What is Francis Bourgeois’ real name?
Francis’ real name is Luke Nicolson and his passion stretches back through most of his life.
He told ITV This morning: “I’d say I’ve been transporting all my life. It started for me in Northwest London where I was brought up from the age of zero to six.
“I used to travel around London with my parents on the Bakerloo line from Willesden Junction. It showed me how amazing trains are and I’d ask to go back there every weekend with my dad.”
As people doubted his authenticity, Francis eventually made a video explaining that he dialled down his passion to fit in at school, after he was experiencing “feelings of loneliness.”
“I even wore roadman clothes,” he said.
Of his passion, he said: “[It] really feels like the shackles are off and I’m totally free.”

Francis has a girlfriend, but it is not yet known who she is. But Francis refers specifically to his partner as ‘my lovely girlfriend’, devastating some keen admirers.
One commented: “Approximately 900,000 women just died of heartbreak.”
Another said “Girlfriend? I don’t know what I’m going to tell my parents.”
Gucci partnership
His fashion sense has also been noted in his videos and now the TikTok man with 2.2 million followers and 37.6 million likes has some impressive new clothes.
Francis has become the face of the North Face and Gucci’s crossover campaign, flaunting his new look in his latest video.
In the short social media clip released by streetwear site Highsnobiety to promote the crossover, Francis is seen acting and having fun as a train conductor, checking tickets and speaking over the tannoy.
